Glenn Close to Star in Film Version of SUNSET BOULEVARD
July 12th, 2005 by Andre Soares
The BBC reports that Glenn Close, 58, will reprise her Tony Award-winning role of the faded (and more than a tad unbalanced) silent-film star Norma Desmond in the film version of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit stage musical Sunset Boulevard.
Webber’s work is based on the 1950 Gothic-noir classic directed by Billy Wilder, from a screenplay by Wilder, Charles Brackett, and D.M. Marshman, Jr., and starring Gloria Swanson and William Holden.
Ewan McGregor and Hugh Jackman have been mentioned as possibilities for the role of the living screenwriter-turned-dead gigolo.
