According to various reports, Christina Ricci will be one of Robert Pattinson's future co-stars in a production of Bel Ami, which is reportedly set to begin shooting in February.
Inspired by Guy de Maupassant's 19th-century novel, Bel Ami stars Pattinson as Georges Duroy, an ambitious Parisian journalist who uses various influential women in his quest for power and social standing. Ricci will play Clotilde, an insatiable housewife who has a torrid affair with Pattinson's anti-hero. Also in the Bel Ami cast: Uma Thurman and Kristin Scott Thomas as two steps in Duroy's ladder to success. Both Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod are set to direct Rachel Bennette's screenplay adaptation.
Robert Pattinson has made a name for himself as the vampire Edward in Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon, which have become worldwide blockbusters. Remember Me, in which he plays a troubled young man, will be released in early March and it's already one of the most expected movies of the year.
Bel Ami is slated for a 2011 release. Between Remember Me and Bel Ami, Pattinson fans will gorge on the next Twilight movie, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, also starring Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, to be released in late June.
