American Film Market 2006

The American Film Market (AFM) begins tomorrow in Santa Monica. A record 589 films will be screened this year, including 384 market premieres — another record. AFM organizers expect that film deals worth more than US$800 million will be sealed in the next 8 days.
The AFM screening schedule, including information on production personnel and film synopses, can be found at the AFM website.
Additionally, the AFM has launched the site www.afmfilms.org, a year-round resource for the AFM Catalogue of Films. According to the AFM press release, the Catalogue of Films consists "of thousands of projects and films that users can search by genre, language, production status and financing status as well as obtain information on co-production opportunities. Over 2,300 projects and films are already listed and hundreds are being added every week."
The AFM runs until Nov. 8.
