Queens International Film Festival 2006 Winners

This year’s Queens International Film Festival top winners — all focused on and/or directed by women — were Best Domestic Feature The Limbo Room, Debra Eisenstadt’s psychological drama about the sometimes fine line separating rough sexual play acting and actual sexual abuse; Best Foreign Feature Masz na imie Justine / Your Name Is Justine, Franco de Pena’s tale of a young Polish woman who is sold as a prostitute in Germany; and Best Documentary The Shape of Water, Kum-Kum Bhavnani’s film (with narration by Susan Sarandon) about different women playing different positive social roles in different countries.
