AURORA BOREALIS DVD
April 5th, 2007 by Andre Soares

The Region 1 Aurora Borealis DVD came out on April 3. Directed by James Burke from a screenplay by Brent Boyd, The Minneapolis-based drama stars Joshua Jackson as a young man struggling to live the life of an adult while coping with his fast deteriorating grandfather, played by Donald Sutherland. Juliette Lewis is the — inevitably quirky — girl who turns Jackson’s life around, Louise Fletcher plays the resilient grandmother.
Aurora Borealis has many solid qualities, not the least of which is Joshua Jackson’s solid performance as the "Average Joe" who is anything but average. It would have been a better movie, however, had screenwriter Brent Boyd — or whoever was responsible for the final screenplay — opted for a more realistic finale.
The DVD features production commentary, interviews with the cast and crew, an isolated music track, and photo gallery.
