Jane Campion's 1990 biopic An Angel at My Table tells the story of New Zealand author Janet Frame, who was considered so "different" — she was incredibly shy — that she was sent to a mental institution for 8 years. This beautifully shot film (by Stuart Dryburgh) boasts a marvelous performance by Kerry Fox.
