Costume Designers Guild Awards - 2007 Winners
February 18th, 2007 by Andre Soares

The winners at the 9th Costume Designers Guild Awards were announced yesterday at a ceremony in Beverly Hills.
All three winners in the feature-film categories worked on movies outside Hollywood — in fact, outside the United States. The best costume design for contemporary film went to Consolata Boyle for The Queen; for fantasy film to Lala Huete for El Laberinto del fauno / Pan’s Labyrinth; and for period film to Chung Man Yee for Man cheng jin dai huang jin jia / Curse of the Golden Flower.
Among the losers were Patricia Field for The Devil Wears Prada (contemporary), Milena Canonero for Marie Antoinette (period), and Sharen Davis for Dreamgirls (period).
Surprisingly, a potentially clique-ish, parochial affair opened up to become truly international in scope.
