German Film Academy 2006 Lola Nominees

 

Das Leben der Anderen (2006) directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, starring Ulrich Muhe, Sebastian Koch, Martina GedeckThe nominees for the German Film Academy’s 2005 Lola Awards were announced on March 23.

Nominees in the Best Film category include Hany-Abu Assad’s Academy Award-nominated Paradise Now (which was partly funded by Germany), Hans-Christian Schmid’s psychological drama Requiem, and writer-director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck’s political thriller Das Leben der Anderen.

Das Leben der Anderen received the most nominations from the German Academy - 11 in all - including Best Director, Best Actor (Ulrich Mühe) and Best Screenplay (von Donnersmarck).

The Berlin Film Festival’s Best Actress and Best Actor winners Sandra Hüller and Moritz Bleibtreu were also nominated for, respectively, Requiem and Elementarteilchen / The Elementary Particles.

The Lola winners will be announced on May 12, 2006, at a ceremony in Berlin.
