Oscar Party at the American Cinematheque in Hollywood

The American Cinematheque is hosting an Oscar Viewing Party at the Egyptian Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard, a mere couple of blocks from the Kodak Theatre, where the statuettes will be handed out next Sunday.

Here’s the schedule and general information, from the Cinematheque’s press release:

2 PM sharp
Doors open for Buffet, Cocktails, Pre-Oscar® banter and Oscar® predictions (for fabulous prizes).
(Limos start to line up on Highland at 2:30 PM. You don’t want to get caught in that) Late arrivals: the doors will be locked, but will be checked at commercial breaks.

2 - 5 PM
"The Queen’s Buffet" & Bar Open. (Best Picture theme menu). Vegetarian options abound. Bar will be open continuously throughout the evening.

3 PM
Red Carpet Arrivals/Pre-Show Starts

5 PM
Oscar® telecast begins.

6 PM
Dessert & Coffee served.

PARKING:
We suggest you enter the area from the South/East to avoid Boulevard closures at Highland and west of Highland. Sunset is not blocked off. Parking behind the theatre in the Grant Parking lots is available for $8-$15. Or head east on Selma there are lots at Selma & Cherokee and Selma & N. Schrader. You will NOT be able to park at Hollywood & Highland or exit at the Metro station there (next closest station is Vine). Free street parking on Sunset, Selma, Las Palmas, McCadden Place, Cherokee or other side streets may be available. Parking is also available at the Cinerama Dome parking lot on Sunset as well as the structure on the north side of the street at Hollywood & Vine (where the Baja Fresh is). Posted rates will apply and unfortunately we don’t validate. You can find full street closure maps at www.oscars.org.

WHAT TO WEAR:
Everyone is encouraged to come in their Oscar finest or as your favorite Oscar nominee (actor or character), but no pressure… you can come with or without your Harry Winston diamonds and we’ll still love you, we’ll really love you. Casual attire is okay.

Tickets: $18 Cinematheque Members | $20 Students/Seniors | $25 General Admission. No vouchers/passes accepted. Ticket sales will close at 6 PM on Friday, February 23. A very limited number of tickets will be sold at the door (first come, first served).

I haven’t seen anything about that. If there is, I’ll make sure to post something about the party.
