Robert Pattinson at BAFTAs; Mo’Nique is a No Show

More Robert Pattinson at the BAFTAs. Fans go crazy as can be attested by the clip above. Mo'Nique is a no-show, but I wonder if any of the fans outside noticed or cared. Precious director Lee Daniels had to hop onstage to collect her Best Supporting Actress Award for playing Gabourey Sidibe's abusive mom.

Xan Brooks, who, I might add, is no Twilight fan, did notice and did care about Mo'Nique's absence. "Why the lack of Mo'Nique?," inquired Brooks in The Guardian. "Didn't think she'd win, or just not arsed enough to come? Answers on a blog comment, please. And riddle me this: do you think she'll take the same coy and enigmatic stance when the Oscars roll around?"

Avatar's Rick Carter, Robert Stromberg and Kim Sinclair win for Best Production Design, while the Best Original Screenplay Award goes to Mark Boal for The Hurt Locker. Avatar now has two awards. The Hurt Locker has four. Inglourious Basterds and Precious have one. So does Up in the Air, whose Jason Reitman and Sheldon Turner have just won for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Up to now, poor An Education is wearing a dunce cap with a big, round zero drawn on it. Surprisingly, a little while ago Lone Scherfig's drama about a schoolgirl (Carey Mulligan) who gets involved with a man (Peter Sarsgaard) twice her age was bypassed in the Outstanding British Film category: Andrea Arnold's much-praised Fish Tank, starring newcomer Katie Jarvis and Michael Fassbender, was named the winner.

Best Animated Feature: Pete Docter's Up. Up has now bagged two trophies.

Mo'Nique goes to the other shows but not the BAFTAS? Should we just give her a bye? She's not the only one with kids and a job.

This post was written during the awards ceremony. AN EDUCATION hadn't won anything then.

It'll be rephrased so readers clearly understand this is so.

Please correct your article. Education leading lady Carey Mulligan took the nomination for best actress. I wouldn't call it a zero.
And what is going on with Pattinson's hair? Is this a natural disaster equal to Haitian earth quake? The boy looks handsome. I don't see anything news worthy here to report.

Why so rude regarding Mo'Nique no show?! I expect good journalists, reporters, bloggers whater to do their research! Mo'Nique has a late nightly talk show in the US, how was she meant to be at the BAFTAs with all of that going on? Ignorance isn't bliss it is dangerous

People keep talking about Robert Pattinson's hair. What's wrong with his hair? It looks fine. I wish I had hair like he does. And I'm a guy!

Mo'Nique has a talk show that she hosts in the states! It's run out of Atlanta and she tapes 6 days a week. Not to mention she has children in school.
