"If you had seen the film, seen it with your eyes. It's pretty much a film about a woman stalking a man [Bradley Cooper]. That doesn't really set up the premise for a loving couple. So giving us the worst couple award is kind of duh," explained Sandra Bullock at the 2010 Razzie Awards gala held at the Barnsdall Gallery Theater in Hollywood on Saturday night.
Bullock, who received enthusiastic applause upon her arrival — "I think you better all sit down. This is going to be a long night" — won the Razzie for Worst Actress of 2009 for her performance in the comedy All About Steve, her one box-office disappointment in a year of sleeper blockbusters that earned her the title of biggest box-office attraction in the US. Like Oscar winner Halle Berry before her, Bullock took the trouble to show up in person to accept the honor.
"I think this is an extraordinary award," she remarked, adding that in Hollywood all you need to do is say that you'll show up and you get an award. (She had previously said she was going to attend the Razzies ceremony if she won.)
Just in case, she brought a cart filled with DVD copies of All About Steve to ensure that Razzie voters actually watch and rethink their opinion of the film.
Bullock is up for a Best Actress Academy Award on Sunday; she's the favorite to win for the drama The Blind Side. If she wins the Oscar tomorrow, she'll be making both Oscar and Razzie history — as the first performer to win the yin and yang of movie trophies the same year. The same weekend, in fact.
Halle Berry won her Best Actress Oscar in early 2002, for Monster's Ball. Her Razzie victory came three years later, for Catwoman.

I think Sandra Bullock really earned her Oscar. She is one of the best actresses ever.
