"The Danes are the first Europeans out of the gate this year with their announcement of their 2009 Foreign Language Oscar submission. The country will submit Niels Arden Oplev's religious drama To verdener (Worlds Apart), which was a big hit in Denmark with over 300,000 tickets sold. Based on a true story, To verdener follows young Sara (Rosalinde Mynster), who comes from a family of Jehovah's Witnesses. When she falls in love with Teis (Pilou Asbaek), who is a non-believer, things become complicated."

The Oscar 2009 nominations will be announced on January 22, 2009. The awards ceremony will be held on February 22, 2009.

Just watched this on Sundance channel. This is full of errors in its representation of Jehovah's Witnesses. It's really sad that people are so ready to depict our beliefs as unreasonable and stringent. I could pick out an error in every scene. They should at least have interviewed a Witness or two before releasing this. They talk about us telling lies and then produce a film that is full of lies about us.
