Darryl’s Hard Liquor and Porn Film Festival
by Andre Soares
As I type, Toronto is hosting Darryl’s Hard Liquor and Porn Film Festival, which showcases short films from different parts of the globe. Not any short film, mind you, but those with lots of both sex and humor. According to the Toronto Star, this year’s Liquor and Porn fest includes Gudrun Heinz’s La Femme Fellatio, "which gives a silent film, Perils of Pauline twist to a Linda Lovelace theme." (Minor technicality: The Perils of Pauline was a serial, not a feature film.) Another entry is Yakov Levi’s Shameless, about an "over-the-hill Ukraine hooker that makes you laugh out loud and cringe within."
Correction: Since Toronto is three hours ahead of Los Angeles, the "festival" is already over — though I assume the party is still going on.
