BEYOND THE ROCKS Screening at the Nederlands Filmmuseum
by Andre Soares

The Nederlands Filmmuseum will sponsor a screening of the newly restored 1922 romantic melodrama Beyond the Rocks, which stars Gloria Swanson, then at the peak of her fame, and Rudolph Valentino, then beginning his ascension to the pinnacle of movie stardom. Directed by Sam Wood, Beyond the Rocks is the only film production that partnered screen legends Swanson and Valentino. The picture was recently discovered amidst the belongings of a deceased Dutch film collector.
With a new score by Henny Vrienten, Beyond the Rocks will be screened at the Pathé Tuschinski, located in the heart of Amsterdam, on April 5 and 10, and from April 6 through 10 at the Filmmuseum Cinerama in that same city. The film will hit Dutch theaters on May 26.
Milestone Films has acquired distribution rights for Beyond the Rocks in North America.

I hope they find more lost films. There’s so much that is supposed to be gone…
