Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920) directed by John S. Robertson, starring John Barrymore, Nita Naldi, Martha Mansfield, Brandon HurstVia CNET: "Finding old movies — legally, systematically and at no cost — isn’t always easy. They’ve begun to pop up on sites like Entertainment Magazine and Public Domain Torrents. Veoh’s founders started their site last year mainly for people to post home movies. But they soon realised people had a desire to track down old Hollywood flicks and classic videos.

"The cult classics posted on the site have all fallen out of copyright, either because of their age or because of owners who failed to protect them. Anyone can upload films to the site; both posting and viewing is free. Veoh plans to make money through advertising and commissions on pay-to-download selections. So far, about 90 movies are available on Veoh’s cult classics page."

I am looking for a movie about some people looking in the desert for somebody . They come upon some ruins and find a skelton with a knife in the rib cage. Does this sound like anything you have seen.
It would have been made in the 50’s

    Sorry, I can’t think of a title.

In a way that sounds strangely familiar, though.
I’ll ask around. Will let you know if I find the answer.

The film might be Legend of the Lost

I remember a move in which this nice old gentlemen counterfeited one dollar bills. The government men tried for years to catch him without success until he makes a little slip and passes one of his bills at a shop that has been checking their money and they catch him. I remember one scene where the kind old gent is going to give a dollar to some young friend and has to search through all his pockets finding bills before he finds a legit bill to give .

That film about the counterfeiter sounds like “Mister 880″ (1950), in which Edmund Gwenn plays the elderly, kindly crook.

Burt Lancaster and Dorothy McGuire co-star. Edmund Goulding directed.

I am looking for a movie that I watched in the 80’s about the kourou Expedition which would have taken place perhaps in the falkland island-not sure. An army of soldiers were burning cane fields while people were working and hiding in there. I cannot remember the title and would like to see it again. Thank you.

The only movie I can think of that shows the burning of cane fields is Gillo Pontecorvo’s “Queimada” (Burn!), with Marlon Brando. It’ set in a fictional Portuguese colony in the Caribbean that is taken over by the British in the late 18th century.

    Isn’t “Going Places” “Les Valseuses”?
If so, that one is (or at least was) available on VHS and perhaps DVD.

I want to find a copy of “The Fabulous Baron Munchausen” from 1962. It was a Czechoslovakian movie directed by Karel Zeman that included artsy visual effects that were gorgeous.
NOT, I repear, NOT the Terry Gilliam version.
Does anyone know how to find a copy, or how to at least rent the film for a showing?

I once viewed a movie in the 70s, I think, that had a theme of a blonde hooker in a small town that hung around a bar. There was a young man attracted to her but he was too young and timid to say anything. As the movie progressed something happened that caused the hooker to go into a shack near the bar and allowed herself to be used by many men from the bar. There was a line of men waiting their turn.Do you know of the movie?
