Wuthering Heights, written by Emily BronteThe [London] Daily Telegraph reports that "an international search is under way for a unique silent movie faithfully depicting the story of Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights." The only remaining evidence of this six-reel, 1920 feature directed by A.V. Bramble, and starring Milton Rosmer as Heathcliff and Ann Trevor as Cathy, consists of several stills and photographs taken during filming in and around the Brontës’ home in Haworth, West Yorkshire.

The most famous cinematic version of Emily Brontë’s tale of obsessive love remains the 1939 Samuel Goldwyn production directed by William Wyler from a screenplay by Charles MacArthur and Ben Hecht, and starring Merle Oberon as Cathy and Laurence Olivier as Heathcliff.
