Now, just one quibble re: Matt's last comment: take a look at the Academy Award winners in the acting categories throughout the years. Do you really believe they were all deserving of the award? I'm not putting De Niro down here; but people win Best This, Best That Oscars for reasons that oftentimes have little to do with "quality."
