Miyuki Sohara to Depict Geisha World

 

According to The Daily Yomiuri, Japanese actress-turned-filmmaker Miyuki Sohara "aims to realistically depict the widely misunderstood world of geisha in her film Hannari." Rob Marshall’s Memoirs of a Geisha has been severely criticized for portraying geishas - and the Japan of the 1930s and 1940s - in a blatantly phony manner.
