The Directors Guild of America’s 2007 Special Awards

The Directors Guild of America’s feature-film nominations are coming up. Four special award winners have already been announced. (The information below was taken from the Directors Guild website.)
Director/actor/producer/author Carl Reiner will receive the 2006 Honorary Life Member Award, which is given in recognition of his service to the Guild and his outstanding creative achievements.
Directors Paris Barclay and Taylor Hackford will receive the 2006 Robert B. Aldrich Service Award for extraordinary service to the DGA and its membership.
News Director George Paul will receive the 2006 Lifetime Achievement Award in News Direction.
Stage Manager/Associate Director Terry Benson will receive the 2006 Franklin J. Schaffner Achievement Award, which is given to an Associate Director or Stage Manager in recognition of career achievement in the industry and service to the Directors Guild of America.
The five feature-film nominees will be announced on Jan. 9, 2007. The winners will be announced at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles on Feb. 3, 2007. I’ll be posting the DGA’s nominations here.
