U.S. War Veteran Sues Michael Moore
by Andre Soares
Massachusetts National Guardsman Peter Damon, who lost both his arms in the Iraq war, has filed a US$85 million lawsuit against filmmaker Michael Moore. As per the lawsuit, Damon suffered "a loss of reputation, emotional distress, embarrassment and personal humiliation" because Moore included in his blockbuster documentary Fahrenheit 9/11 an interview clip in which the Guardsman appears to be voicing anti-war views. Damon says he was actually complaining of "the excruciating type of pain" from his injuries. He also asserts that Moore never asked him permission to use the clip.
