THE AVIATOR on DVD

Leonardo DiCaprio in The Aviator by Martin ScorseseThe Aviator, Martin Scorsese’s bloated, superficial biopic of loony billionaire Howard Hughes, will find its way to (Region 1) DVD shelves in May.

The Aviator stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a much too boyish Hughes, and Cate Blanchett doing a caricature of Katharine Hepburn in some of her worst 1930s films. Hughes and Hepburn were lovers of sorts in real life; in the film, Blanchett looks like she’s ready to adopt DiCaprio.
