THE DEVIL CAME ON HORSEBACK on DVD

Annie Sundberg and Ricki Stern’s Darfur documentary The Devil Came on Horseback is currently available via Netflix.
In the documentary, former American Marine Capt. Brian Steidle attempts to spread the word to the U.S. government and public about the atrocities he witnessed in Sudan’s Darfur region. Estimates about the number of dead — black Africans victims of Arab militias controlled by the Sudanese government– vary widely, from high five figures to high six figures. Rapes are reportedly commonplace.
The Devil Came on Horseback DVD includes the short film Supporting Survivors, which describes the work Global Grassroots (founded by Steidle’s sister, Gretchen) has done with genocide survivors from Darfur and Rwanda.
