Mar adentro / The Sea Inside (2004) won a record 14 Spanish Academy Goya Awards, including best picture, best director for Alejandro Amenábar, and best actor for Javier Bardem. It also won the Oscar
for best foreign-language film.
Though not quite all that good, Mar adentro does have a number of things going for it, especially its outstanding supporting cast.
Mar adentro Region 2 DVD (Europe, Japan, South Africa, and the Middle East including Egypt) release in Spain: March 30, 2005.
