"This is a festival with a mission," says Ashok Bantia, event coordinator for the 7 Island International Film Festival held in Mumbai. "… Everyone talks of peace and disarmament. We are showing films that capture the same and offer thought provoking ideas for the same. We intend to expose the Indian youth to film that brings new ideas, methodology, solutions and experimentation for social change through non-violence and global disarmament." Approximately forty films (mostly from the U.S. and Australia) promoting "non violent resistance, global disarmament and peace" are being shown at the five-day festival, which ends tomorrow.
