The AFI FEST 2007 is being held at the ArcLight Theater complex in Hollywood.
12:45 pm - Never Apologize: A Personal Visit with Lindsay Anderson. Mike Kaplan’s documentary about the director of This Sporting Life (1963), If… (1968) — perhaps the best school-life movie ever made — and O Lucky Man! (1973). Archive footage includes the likes of Laurence Olivier, Lillian Gish, Richard Harris, Bette Davis, and Alan Bates, among others.
3:45 pm - Caramel (top photo). Nadine Labaki’s romantic comedy focuses on five women in Beirut. Lebanon’s official submission to the best foreign language film Academy Award, Caramel also won both the Audience and the Youth awards at this year’s San Sebastian Film Festival.
6:45 pm - 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days. Cristian Mungiu’s drama about a young woman trying to have an abortion in Communist Romania won the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

7 pm - Margot at the Wedding. Noah Baumbach’s comedy-drama about two sisters, one of whom is getting married. Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Jack Black star.
7:15 pm - The Band’s Visit. Eran Kolirin’s widely praised comedy-drama about a troupe of Egyptian musicians who end up stranded in a small Israeli town won top honors at this year’s Israeli Academy Awards. However, the film was ineligible for the foreign-language film Oscar because most of its dialogue is in English.
10:45 pm - A Thousand Years of Good Prayers. Wayne Wang’s drama about a Chinese widower’s difficult relationship with his daughter living in the United States received the Golden Shell at this year’s San Sebastian Film Festival.
