Carefully directed by Marcelo Gomes; beautifully photographed by Mauro Pinheiro Jr.; tautly written by Gomes, Karim Ainouz, and Paulo Caldas; and extremely well acted by Peter Ketnath and João Miguel, Cinema, Aspirina e Urubus / Cinema, Aspirin and Vultures is a touching dramatic comedy about the grudging friendship that develops between a German immigrant/war refugee (Ketnath) and a Brazilian migrant peasant (Miguel) in Brazil's arid Northeast in 1942.
