Cinemateca de Cuba’s Best of the Best

"Lo Mejor de lo Mejor" or "The Best of the Best" is the name of the film series that is commemorating the 45th anniversary of the Cinemateca de Cuba in Havana. The program consists of 74 feature films and two shorts, which will be screened at the Charles Chaplin Theater. Another 36 features will be presented at the Charlot Video Hall.
Among the series’ feature films are Sergei Eisenstein’s Battleship Potemkin, Josef von Sternberg’s The Docks of New York, Carl Theodor Dreyer’s The Passion of Joan of Arc, D. W. Griffith’s The Birth of a Nation and Intolerance, Roberto Rossellini’s Open City, Ingmar Bergman’s The Seventh Seal, Luis Buñuel’s Belle de jour, and Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai.
