Lola Kenya Screen 2007

Ogova Ondego at Cinema Minima:

"The second edition of Lola Kenya Screen film festival for children and youth opened in Nairobi on August 6, 2007 with the screening of the popular Danish film, Drommen / We Shall Overcome, by Niels Arden Oplev. The 105-minute featurew [sic] set the people thinking as they champion democratic rights in a society replete with malpractice. Drommen is about a determined boy who, inspired by the speeches of a better tomorrow by the American civil rights advocate and preacher, Martin Luther King, rises against injustice of a head teacher who oversteps his authority during a corporal punishment of him."

The Lola Kenya Screen film festival will come to a close on Aug. 11.
