2005 Marrakech Film Festival: November 11-19, 2005

5th Marrakech Film Festival - 2005 AwardsThe 5th Marrakech Film Festival came to a close this evening, with the Grand Prix, the Etoile d’Or, going to Ernest Abdyshaparov’s Saratan (Kyrgyzstan). The Jury Prize was awarded to C.R.A.Z.Y by Jean-Marc Vallée (Canada) and Bab El Makam / Passion by Mohamed Malas Remis (Syria). Daniel Day-Lewis was chosen best actor for The Ballad of Jack and Rose (U.S.), while Shirley Henderson won her second Best Actress Award in a week – BAFTA Scotland gave her their top prize just a few days ago – for her performance in the supernatural-psychological thriller Frozen (United Kingdom).
