Bombed-Out British Film Theater Reopens
by Andre Soares
“I’m really pleased that, 64 years after the old Rialto Cinema was bombed to the ground, we have been part of a team that has restored the cinema here.” Paul Hocking, owner of Rialto Leisure, Ltd.
The old Rialto Cinema, which was destroyed in the 1941 bombings in Coventry, is now the new Rialto Cinema, showing Mission Impossible III and Ice Age II. The look is all art-deco, however, and the two screens are flanked by 1930s lights and mirrors. Source: icCoventry.
