LITTLE CHILDREN d: Todd Field

Little Children (2006) directed by Todd Field, starring Kate Winslet, Patrick Wilson, Jennifer Connelly, Jackie Earle Haley, Raymond J. Barry

Capsule Review: Little Children.

Despite an intriguing premise — Little Children feels like a cross between American Beauty and Peyton Place — several good directorial touches, a couple of first-rate performances, and generally excellent technical credits, Todd Field’s "satirical melodrama" suffers from a facile, irritatingly dishonest epilogue — shades of Paul Haggis and Bobby Moresco’s Crash.

Maybe the movie wasn’t all that great, but the sex scenes were good, no?
