I didn't imagine it to be so thoughtful. I thought it would be a simple answer of who-done-it. That was a very thought provoking answer and now that I think about it, it was obvious Jack died the way Ennis imagined, especially after the scene with Jack walking into the shadows with that man made it clear that he was in fact openly gay.
