There she discovers a cruel world utterly different from the one she left outside, one where the female inmates must depend on each other for support, protection and love. LION’S DEN takes the familiar tropes of trashy ‘girls behind bars’ flicks and deepens them, creating a tale of survival that is both inspiring and devastating.

Along for the ride is Theo (RENT’s Adam Pascal), who is Harry’s partner in every sense of the word, even if the girls think they only build cabinets together. A charming look at a family under construction, AMERICAN PRIMITIVE is sure to become an instant collector’s item.

I’m looking forward to LION’S DEN, which is supposed to be an excellent drama from Argentina. The Outfest program is usually hit or miss, but it’s a hit, it’s a ***real*** hit. I expect LIONS DEN to be one.
