Aaron Eckhart’s BATTLE: LOS ANGELES Only Top-Twelve Movie Down Tuesday: Box Office

Jonathan Liebesman’s Battle: Los Angeles topped the US/Canada box office once again on Tuesday, March 15, taking in $3m according to Box Office Mojo. The action-sci-fier features Aaron Eckhart, Ramon Rodriguez, Gino Anthony Pesi, Cory Hardrict, Michael Peña, Ne-Yo, and Michelle Rodriguez. Among the top-twelve movies on the box-office chart, Battle: Los Angeles was the only one to be down on Tuesday, a minor -1.5% drop.

Featuring the voices of Johnny Depp, Isla Fischer, Abigail Breslin, and Ned Beatty, Gore Verbinski’s animated feature Rango collected $2.5m at no. 2.

Directed by Twilight’s Catherine Hardwicke, and starring Amanda Seyfried and Gary Oldman, Red Riding Hood brought in $1.37m at no. 3. Also in the Red Riding Hood cast: The Twilight Saga’s Billy Burke, Virginia Madsen, Lukas Haas, Julie Christie, Max Irons, and Shiloh Fernandez.

The Adjustment Bureau, starring Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, and veteran Terence Stamp, drew $1.28m at no. 4.

At no. 5, Disney’s animated 3D feature Mars Needs Moms grossed $940k. Despite a 27% attendance jump, it remained below the $1m-per-day mark. After five days, Mars Needs Moms has yet to reach the $10m mark domestically.

At no. 6, Bobby Farrelly and Peter Farrelly’s Hall Pass, starring Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis, pulled in $629k.

Next in line were James McAvoy’s Gnomeo & Juliet with $616k at no. 7 and Alex Pettyfer and Vanessa HudgensBeastly with $610k at no. 8.

Rounding out the top twelve were Jennifer Aniston-Adam Sandler’s Just Go with It with $501k, Colin Firth-Geoffrey Rush’s The King’s Speech with $412k, Liam Neeson-January JonesUnknown with $407k, Alex Pettyfer’s I Am Number Four with $315k.

Among the top-twelve movies, Battle: Los Angeles had the highest per-theater average, $878. I Am Number Four had the lowest, $157.

Also among the top-twelve, as mentioned above Battle: Los Angeles was the only movie to be down on Tuesday (compared to Monday), a minor -1.5%. Just Go with It posted the highest attendance increase, +29%.
