Yesterday, the Spanish Academy’s Goya Award nominations were announced, with Alex de la Iglesia’s A Sad Trumpet Ballad as the leader. Earlier today, the Directors Guild announced the five nominees in the Documentary Feature category, and a few hours ago the Toronto Film Critics Association named the Best Canadian Film of 2010.
Within the next week, more film award nominees and winners will be announced. That includes the Broadcast Film Critics Association’s Critics Choice awards ceremony on Jan. 14, the day when the Denver Film Critics Society and the American Cinema Editors will also make public their list of nominees.
The evening of Jan. 16 is the date of the biggest North American film awards ceremony after the Oscars, the Golden Globes. Two days later, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts will announce its roster of nominees.
