Jennifer Lopez Continues to Ride DRAGON: Wednesday Box Office

Starring Alex O’Loughlin and Jennifer Lopez, Alan Poul’s romantic comedy The Back-up Plan remained at the top of the North American box-office chart on Wednesday, earning $832K (-18.7%) according to figures found at Box Office Mojo.

Featuring the voices of Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, and Gerard Butler, How to Train Your Dragon grossed $737K at #2.

At #3, the Aaron Johnson adventure flick Kick-Ass drew $703K, followed by the Steve Carell-Tina Fey comedy of errors Date Night, up one spot, with $656K.

Down one spot, The Losers, starring Avatar's Zoe Saldana, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Chris Evans, took in $617K at #5. Next in line was Louis Leterrier's 3D fantasy adventure Clash of the Titans, starring Sam Worthington, with $581K.

Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud's Oceans was #7, with $570K, followed by Neil LaBute’s Death at a Funeral, with Chris Rock and Martin Lawrence, which collected $534K.

Rounding out the top twelve were Miley Cyrus' The Last Song with $209K, John Cusack's Hot Tub Time Machine with $194K, Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland with $153K, and Jennifer Aniston's The Bounty Hunter with $113K.

Among the top twelve movies, Hot Tub Time Machine was the only one that posted an increase, a minuscule +0.2%, while The Losers suffered the steepest decrease, -19.6%.

Among the top twelve movies, Oceans had the highest per-theater average, $473; The Bounty Hunter had the lowest, $72.

Also of note: James Cameron's Avatar with $69K, Roman Polanski's The Ghost Writer with $43K, Julianna Margulies' City Island with $28K, Ben Stiller's Greenberg with $18K, Matt Damon's Green Zone with $13K, and Robert Pattinson's Remember Me with $10K.

No figures were available for Noomi Rapace's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Kristen Stewart's The Runaways, or Ricardo Darin's The Secret in Their Eyes.
