Jeremy Renner greets John Hawkes upon arrival for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. Renner was a Best Supporting Actor nominee for Ben Affleck’s thriller The Town. John Hawkes was a Best Supporting Actor nominee for Debra Granik’s Winter’s Bone. They both lost the Oscar to Christian Bale in David O. Russell’s The Fighter.
This was Renner second Oscar nomination. Last year, he was up for Best Actor for his performance as an American soldier in Iraq in Kathryn Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker. Hawkes Oscar nomination was his first.
