Kristen Stewart 'Welcome to the Rileys' UK Rating

Kristen Stewart, Welcome to the Rileys, prostituteStarring James Gandolfini and Kristen Stewart, Jake Scott's Welcome the Rileys has received a "15" rating from the British Board of Film Classification. That means no one under 15 can go to a theater showing Welcome to the Rileys, and no one under 15 can rent or buy a DVD of the film. The reason for the censors' rating is that Scott's drama "contains strong language and sex references."

Much of that "strong language" (and sex references, for that matter) comes out of Kristen Stewart's mouth, who's no dainty Bella Swan in this one. Best known for her work in the Twilight Saga movies, torn between the affections of a vampire (Robert Pattinson) and a werewolf (Taylor Lautner), in Welcome to the Rileys Stewart plays a teenage pole dancer/sex worker befriended by a couple who had recently lost their daughter. Released in North America in late 2010, Welcome to the Rileys performed poorly at the box office, collecting only $159k. (DVD sales figures have been hard to come by.)

Written by Ken Hixon, Welcome to the Rileys also features Joe Chrest and Ally Sheedy. The film opens in the UK on November 18. [Addendum: As a Twitter follower remarked, that's the same day Bill Condon's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 opens in the UK, the US, and several other territories.]

It was one those stop-the-presses – or rather, stop-the-tweets – moment: Kristen Stewart injured on the set of Snow White and the Huntsman. Filming had to be halted, but should resume on Friday. Now, what happened to her? Did Stewart scrape a knee? Break a fingernail? Drop her contacts? Does she actually wear contacts? Who knows?

Whatever it was that happened to Stewart, it was deemed newsworthy – top headline on the IMDb in the last twelve hours or so – even if no one knew what had exactly taken place. In fact, Stewart's on-set accident was even more newsworthy than Shia LaBeouf's recent caught-on-camera street brawl in Vancouver, during which the Transformers actor got pummeled.

That shows you the power of Twilight. Not even LaBeouf and the Transformers robots – even if joined by the Terminator, the Expendables, the Pirates of the Caribbean, the Police Academy, the Rocky, the Alien, etc. – can beat the love triangle featuring a human (Stewart), a werewolf (Taylor Lautner), and a vampire (Robert Pattinson). Hence, it should come as no surprise that Stewart, Lautner, and Pattinson will be immortalized by leaving their handprints and footprints in the cement at Grauman's Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard.

The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, exactly 15 days before the US opening of Bill Condon's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, the next-to-last installment in the billionaire The Twilight Saga franchise. The previous installments were Catherine Hardwicke's Twilight, Chris Weitz's The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and David Slade's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Elsewhere, last year Stewart was seen in Welcome to the Rileys and The Runaways, and has completed work on Walter Salles' On the Road; Pattinson starred in Remember Me and Water for Elephants; and Lautner is the star of John Singleton's thriller Abduction, currently in theaters.

Since 1927, when silent era superstar Norma Talmadge accidentally stepped in the wet cement in the Chinese Theatre's forecourt (or so the – apparently apocryphal – story goes), about 250 Hollywood celebrities have left their marks at the internationally known tourist attraction. Those range from Mary Pickford and Pola Negri to Jennifer Aniston and Cher, from Douglas Fairbanks and William S. Hart to George Clooney and Matt Damon. I should add that the Harry Potter crowd – Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint – is already there as well.

The Stewart-Pattinson-Lautner hand/foot-printing ceremony will be broadcast live via streaming video at www.chinesetheatres.com.

Mickey RourkeMickey Rourke, whose film career has been somewhat resurrected thanks to Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler in 2008, will have his hand and footprints immortalized at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 31, at Grauman's Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard.

The 59-year-old Rourke, who'll next be seen as King Hyperion in Tarsem Singh's fantasy adventure Immortals, began his film career with a small role in Steven Spielberg's 1979 romp 1941. Among Rourke's other credits are Diner, Rumble Fish, The Pope of Greenwich Village, Angel Heart, Year of the Dragon, Barfly, and Nine 1/2 Weeks. His career went rapidly downhill in the late '80s, though Rourke has managed to keep himself busy in front of the cameras.

Released by Relativity Media, Immortals opens on November 11, 2011. Also in the cast: Man of Steel's Henry Cavill, Slumdog Millionaire's Freida Pinto, and Twilight's Kellan Lutz, in addition to Luke Evans, Isabel Lucas, Stephen Dorff, and John Hurt. Charles Parlapanides and Vlas Parlapanides penned the mythological tale. Also worth noting, Rourke and fellow Immortals player Kellan Lutz are reteaming for an Indonesia-set thriller, Java Heat, under the direction of Conor Allyn.

Mickey Rourke's hand/footprinting ceremony will be broadcast live via streaming video on: http://www.chinesetheatres.com. Rourke will be there three days before Lutz's The Twilight Saga pals, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner, get their hands and footprints in cement.

Cam Gigandet, 5 Star DayBreaking Glass Pictures has acquired all U.S. rights to Danny Buday's debut feature film 5 Star Day, starring Twilight's Cam Gigandet (right) and Sucker Punch's Jena Malone. The film is slated to open through Check Entertainment in New York, Los Angeles (Laemmle Sunset 5 in West Hollywood and the Playhouse 7 in Pasadena), and a handful of other U.S. cities on November 2.

As per the press release, 5 Star Day features Cam Gigandet as Jake Gibson, whose horoscope "forecasts a flawless day the morning of his birthday. Little does he realize, his entire world is about to be turned upside down as everything that could go wrong – does.

"Now, determined to disprove the theory of Astrology, Jake embarks on a journey to find the three people born the same time and place as himself: a single mom haunted by her past (Jena Malone), an overworked nurse (Brooklyn Sudano) and an undiscovered jazz singer (Max Hartman). What Jake learns along the way is an important lesson about life, love, fate and destiny that will unexpectedly change his life forever."

Cam Gigandet has recently joined the cast of TNT's upcoming Western series Gateway. In addition to Catherine Hardwicke's Twilight, in which he played opposite Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, Gigandet's movie credits include Easy A with Emma Stone, and Burlesque with Christina Aguilera and Cher. Besides Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch, with Abbie Cornish and Emily Browning, Jena Malone has been featured in Saved!, Into the Wild, Donnie Darko, and Pride & Prejudice.
