Christopher Nolan's INCEPTION Passes $150m Milestone: Box Office

On Tuesday, most movies among the top twelve posted attendance gains in relation to Monday, as per Box Office Mojo.

The Selena Gomez vehicle Ramona and Beezus had the biggest Monday-to-Tuesday surge, an impressive +20.5%, though nearly every other movie posted double-digit gains. The exceptions were Angelina Jolie's Salt (+6.2%), the Robert Pattinson-Kristen Stewart-Taylor Lautner romantic fantasy The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (+6.5%), and Tom Cruise's Knight and Day (+7.3%).

Inception's revenues remained basically unchanged. Nimród Antal's Predators was the only movie to go down on Tuesday, -3.9%.

Following Inception was the spy thriller Salt, which brought in $4.37m. Liev Schreiber and Chiwetel Ejiofor co-star with Angelina Jolie. Phillip Noyce directed.

At no. 3, Chris Renaud and Pierre Coffin's Despicable Me, featuring the voices of Steve Carell, Jason Segel, Julie Andrews, and others, collected $3.61m.

At no. 4, Jon Turteltaub's The Sorcerer's Apprentice, starring Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel, scored $1.38m.

Right behind it, Lee Unkrich's Toy Story 3, featuring the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack, was no. 5 with $1.37m.

At no. 6, Elizabeth Allen's Ramona and Beezus earned $1.35m. It passed the $10m mark on its fifth day. Total to date: $10.291m.

Next in line was David Slade's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, with $1.15m.

Adam Sandler's Grown Ups earned $1.06 — slightly above the $1m-per-day mark once again — at no. 8.

Rounding out the top twelve were M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender with $589k, Adrien Brody's Predators with $404k, Julianne Moore's The Kids Are All Right with $319k, James Mangold's Knight and Day with $214k.
