Robert Pattinson, REMEMBER ME – Only 64K: Box Office

Robert Pattinson serious, Remember Me

Robert Pattinson alone, Remember MeStarring Robert Pattinson, Remember Me grossed an estimated $64K this weekend after losing 181 theaters — more than half what it had a week ago. Consequently, its drop-off rate was quite steep: 60.9%, according to Box Office Mojo.

At the start of its sixth week in release, the romantic drama directed by Allen Coulter, and pairing Pattinson with Emilie de Ravin, Pierce Brosnan, and Chris Cooper, has a grossed a total of $18.75 million at the North American box.

Its per-theater average this weekend was a low $408 — in fact, the lowest among the 40+ films found on Box Office Mojo's weekend chart. (Kristen Stewart's The Runaways is actually holding up well after last week's expansion. More on that in a bit.)

About three weeks ago, I believed Remember Me would end up with more than $20 million domestically. Then I lowered my expectations to about $19 million. But if things continue as they've been in the past week, Remember Me will have trouble even reaching that more modest mark.

On the positive side, Robert Pattinson's drama is having better luck overseas. I'll be posting Remember Me's foreign revenues shortly.

Remember Me will be out on DVD on June 22.

He doesn't have any male fans in America. I thought this movie would have made at least sixty million here, but the Twilight tweens didn't go see it. I don't know why. It had an attractive cast, PG-13 rating, and it played wide. I guess they were offended by the ending or they don't want to see him play a human person. I don't see his next film doing great in America either. Maybe he should stick to being an international star. A lot of Americans don't know the Bollywood actors, but they are famous in the rest of the world. Rob's future will be better if he sticks to films with international appeal. The American audience will never forget Edward Cullen so he's never going to be a big star here.

I think Remember Me is doing quite well considering the competition it was up against. It was a wonderful film, with solid performances from a wonderful cast. With only a 16 million dollar budget, Remember Me want be in the red. Summit will definately see a profit. I'm glad that I got to see it on the big screen, instead of waiting for the DVD. I've already pre-ordered my copy.

it is a shame that the film has not recieved the recognition it deserves. It is actually a very good films and the characters are convincing. I bet the DVD release will be very high in sales as it is not really a cinema film….certain films are better on the big screen so you pay the money to get the impact so in comparison with that point i can understand the box office non hit approach. The same applied with 'me and orson wells'…a good film, an excellant cast yet faded into obscurity. Remember me will be remembered there is no denying robert pattinson's appeal.

Unfortunately, US audiences are jaded. It doesn't surprise me that it is doing better overseas. I think they rushed Rob into this piece. Despite good acting on the part of the actors, I think the ending sequence put many in the US off…just an observation…
