Robert Pattinson Seduces Uma Thurman: BEL AMI Photo

Robert Pattinson seduces Uma Thurman Bel Ami

Robert Pattinson's Georges Duroy seduces Uma Thurman in this Bel Ami photo recently released online. (Click on the photo to enlarge it.) Like fellow Twilight Saga player Kristen Stewart, Pattinson has taken the indie route when not incarnating the lovestruck vampire Edward Cullen opposite Stewart's Bella Swan.

Pattinson has played Salvador Dali in Little Ashes (admittedly, that was before Twilight), he's been the rebellious New Yorker Tyler Hawkins in Allen Coulter's Remember Me — which has done surprisingly well at the overseas box office, obviously as a result of Pattinson's worldwide popularity — and here he's Georges Duroy, Guy de Maupassant's ambitious, amoral hero.

Next for Pattinson is Water for Elephants, in which he'll be surrounded by Oscar winners and nominees, among them fellow players Reese Witherspoon, Christoph Waltz, and Hal Holbrook.

Directed by London stage veterans Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod, Bel Ami also features Christina Ricci, Colm Meaney, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Holly Grainger.

I wonder if this film will ever screen in America. With foreign films and indies struggling to get screens, it makes me think if you're outside of NYC and L.A. you might have to wait to DVD this. I have read that they want it to come out in December and there will be tons of big budget releases by then.

I see this film playing well in Europe, but I doubt it will in the States. Most people in the U.S. will stay away due to subject matter and historical setting, which is sad. Kristen Scott Thomas, who is a brilliant actress, is also in this. She does not get enough recognition here. I'll probably be able to see this at my local indie theater in the Village.

I must say, this picture makes my heart skip a beat. So much more grown up, and not disgustingly gushy, just purely sexy. This should be a great film!!

I can't wait for Bel Ami to come out.. It will be exciting to see Rob in this type of role.. It's great to see him taking on some challenging roles which are so different from the twilight movies.. I love the twilight movies, but it is a great step in his career.. It will rock to see his sexy side in the movie as well. Now I just wish he'd release an album and share his musical talent w/the world..

Can't wait to see Bel Ami! i think it is great that Rob has done some indie films and is picky about the roles he chooses. Nice that he cares about the roles and the art and not just the money. He seems very unhollywood which is refreshing. I think he is gorgeous and talented and I hope he has a great career ahead.
