Stephen Dorff has his most notable role in quite some time as a hard-living Hollywood actor in Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere. In the Somewhere trailer above, featuring music by Phoenix, Dorff can be seen with Elle Fanning, who pays him an unexpected visit.

Coppola, only the the third woman to be nominated for a Best Director Academy Award, won an Oscar for her Lost in Translation (2003) screenplay. The 2003 comedy-drama set in Tokyo starred Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson. Coppola’s only release following Lost in Translation was Marie Antoinette (2006), a “modernized” version of the tragic queen’s story, starring Kirsten Dunst in the title role.

Others in the Somewhere cast are Laura Ramsey, Michelle Monahan, and Benicio del Toro.

Somewhere opens in the US on Dec. 22.
