Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Taylor Lautner was the first The Twilight Saga: Eclipse star to be interviewed Saturday morning at the official Twilight Saga: Eclipse convention in Century City, on Los Angeles’ Westside. Daniel Fienberg live-blogged the Lautner press conference at hitfix.com.
After warning us that "my signal is a bit iffy. So just cross your fingers for the next few hours for me…" Fienberg proceeds to tell us what Lautner had to say about working with Robert Pattinson, that Eclipse is "by far my favorite movie," and that he "drives a car that gets him from Point A to Point B."
(I’m not talking about Fienberg here; he was only transcribing what he heard — but what’s this obsession some reporters have about the kinds of cars movie stars drive? Or "who" they’re wearing? Why not ask something truly relevant like their favorite tanning salons or what sort of vitamins they take in the morning?)
Here are a couple of snippets:
10:40 a.m. Taylor gets to work with Robert Pattison [sic] more in this movie. "Usually I have to hate him in the scenes and it’s difficult. He’s such a funny nice guy," Taylor says. Awww… "As soon as they call cut, we just bust out laughing," he says.
10:41 a.m. Even Taylor is amused by his frequent shirtlessness. "Those are the awkward scenes, where everybody is fully closed and it’s raining and I’m waiting there, the only person just posing there."
My personal favorite Lautner bit:
10:50 a.m. Taylor’s guilty pleasures are "American Idol." He hasn’t missed an episode in nine years. "I can’t believe I just said that."
