Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart in Chris Weitz's The Twilight Saga: New Moon
The 2010 Teen Choice Award nominations were announced on Monday, June 14. Katy Perry will host the awards ceremony on Fox at 8 p.m. ET on Monday, August 9. (Teen Choice Award 2010 nominations.)
The Teen Choice Awards cover film, television, music, etc. Nominees range from the expected The Twilight Saga: New Moon and Avatar to Keeping Up with the Kardashians and America's Next Top Model.
Needless to say, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Sandra Bullock, Sam Worthington, and Michael Jackson (for This Is It) were all nominated, in addition to the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal for Prince of Persia, Gwyneth Paltrow for Iron Man 2, and about 300 other people.
Voting is open to the public. In fact, the public can choose their favorites time and time again. As a result, the winners won't necessarily be those with the most followers; expect them instead to be the ones with the most ardent fans. (That's probably an important reason — perhaps the chief reason — why Kristen Stewart's The Runaways nabbed a Best Drama nomination even though it's a small independent film.)
Curiously, you won't find any of the Teen Choice Award nominees on the TCA website's home page, which seems to be dedicated instead to four different video ads.
