THE KING’S SPEECH’s Tom Hooper Oscar 2011 Red Carpet Photo

Tom Hooper

Tom Hooper, was an Oscar nominee for Achievement in Directing, when he arrived at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. He left that evening carrying an Oscar statuette for Best Direction for the British drama The King’s Speech.

This was Tom Hooper’s first Best Direction Oscar nomination. Earlier this year, he also won the Directors Guild of America Award. Only six times since 1950 has the DGA winner failed to win a matching Oscar.
