Zac Efron: Shining Star Award at 2010 Maui Film Festival



Zac Efron, Maui Film Festival 2010

Zac Efron, among whose credits are High School Musical, High School Musical 2, High School Musical 3: Senior Year, The Derby Stallion, 17 Again, Hairspray, and the well-received box-office disappointment Me and Orson Welles, was honored with the Shining Star Award on June 16 at the Maui Film Festival.

Efron will next be seen in Charlie St. Cloud, directed by Burr Steers, and featuring Amanda Crew, Ray Liotta, Kim Basinger, and Chris Massoglia. Charlie St. Cloud opens in the US on July 30 [not Oct. 15 as previously reported].

Previous recipients of the Maui festival's Shining Star Award include Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel.

    A worthy recipient! Looking forward to Charlie St Cloud, and to other film projects Zac has lined up. Congrats to Zac!
