Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland had a good Monday at the North American box office, grossing $6.054 million on Day 11 according to Box Office Mojo. The first 2010 release to cross the $200 million mark, Alice in Wonderland has amassed $215.3 million to date. The film stars Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Crispin Glover, Matt Lucas, and the voices of Stephen Fry, Barbara Windsor, Michael Gough, and Michael Sheen.
At a distant #2, the Paul Greengrass-Matt Damon Iraq War thriller Green Zone drew $1.23 million, while the #3 movie, the teen comedy She’s Out of My League, took in $1.14 million.
Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo, was #4 with $797K, followed by James Cameron’s Avatar, back among the top five, with $671K. The Robert Pattinson vehicle Remember Me was right behind the 3D sci-fier, with $664K.
At this rate — Remember Me suffered steep decreases on both Saturday and Sunday — Pattinson's romantic drama will barely match its relatively small $16 million production cost at the domestic box office. In four days, Remember Me has grossed only $8.7 million at 2,212 screens. Its Monday average was only $300, versus $410 for Green Zone and $386 for She's Out of My League.
Our Family Wedding, featuring Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker and America Ferrera, was #7, with $592K and $369 per screen.
Rounding out the top twelve were Antoine Fuqua’s Brooklyn’s Finest ($451K), Kevin Smith’s Cop Out ($417K), Breck Eisner’s The Crazies ($408K), Chris Columbus‘ Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief ($331K), and Jeff Bridges‘ Crazy Heart ($240K).
