Alice in Wonderland grossed $6.010 million at the North American box office on Tuesday, a minuscule 0.7 percent drop from Monday, according to Box Office Mojo. Tim Burton's fantasy adventure stars Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Anne Hathaway.

At #2, the Paul Greengrass-Matt Damon Iraq War thriller Green Zone took in $1.276 million, with She's Out of My League was right behind it. The teen comedy earned $1.173 million.

Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo, was #4 with $827K, followed by the Robert Pattinson-Emilie de Ravin romantic drama Remember Me with $735K.

James Cameron's Avatar was #6 with $678K. At #7, Our Family Wedding, featuring Forest Whitaker and America Ferrera, drew $627K.

With the exception of Alice in Wonderland, every movie among Tuesday's top twelve posted box office gains. Among those that earned more than $500K, Pattinson's Remember Me had the highest increase, 10.7 percent. Despite the significant increase, the film's per-screen average ($333) still trails those of six other top-twelve movies, including Green Zone and She's Out of My League.

The highest per-screen average among the top twelve belonged to Alice in Wonderland ($1,612); the lowest to Cop Out ($163).

Rounding out the top twelve were Kevin Smith's Cop Out ($469K), Antoine Fuqua's Brooklyn's Finest ($458K), Breck Eisner's The Crazies ($414K), Chris Columbus' Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief ($391K), and Jeff Bridges' Crazy Heart ($264K).
