Box Office: ALICE IN WONDERLAND #1; Robert Pattinson’s REMEMBER ME Jumps 20%

Alice in Wonderland grossed $5.12 million at the North America box office on Thursday, an 8.6 percent increase from Wednesday but its second lowest single-day take nevertheless. Alice in Wonderland's larger box-office take, in fact, was part of a "day trend," as every single movie featured on Box Office Mojo's top-twelve chart posted gains yesterday.After 14 days, Alice in Wonderland has taken in $231.2 million. Tim Burton’s fantasy adventure stars Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Anne Hathaway.

Following a 25% jump, She’s Out of My League went up on spot on the chart. At #2, the teen comedy starring Jay Baruchel earned $1.027 million for a total of $13.9 million. At #3, the Paul Greengrass-Matt Damon Iraq War thriller Green Zone took in $975K. Total to date for the $100 million production: $18.7 million.

Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo, was #4 with $746K, followed by James Cameron’s Avatar with $651K.

Despite a solid 19.5 percent increase, the Robert Pattinson-Emilie de Ravin romantic drama Remember Me remained at #6 with $640K. Total after 7 days: $10.6 million. At #7, Our Family Wedding, featuring Forest Whitaker and America Ferrera, earned $518K.

Rounding out the top twelve were Kevin Smith’s Cop Out ($411K), Antoine Fuqua’s Brooklyn’s Finest ($382K), Breck Eisner’s The Crazies ($374K), Chris Columbus' Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief ($341K),and Jeff BridgesCrazy Heart ($223K).

Among the top twelve, She’s Out of My League posted the strongest gain (25%) from the day before, followed by Remember Me (19.5%); Crazy Heart had the lowest (0.5%). The highest per-screen average belonged to Alice in Wonderland ($1,374); the lowest to Cop Out ($143).
