Robert Pattinson REMEMBER ME GMTV Interview

Robert Pattinson was interviewed on the British channel ITV's morning show GMTV following the London premiere of Remember Me, which opens in the UK on April 2. The romantic drama co-starring Emilie de Ravin, Pierce Brosnan, and Chris Cooper, directed by Allen Coulter, and written by Will Fetters has received mixed reviews in the various countries where it has played. Many critics have been particularly harsh on the film's ending, which they found exploitative.

Pattinson, for his part, has received mixed reviews as well. But many of those who have found his "brooding" character much too James Dean-ish have remarked on the actor's strong screen presence and his daring post-Twilight film choice.

The best thing about watching a Robert Pattinson interview is that he comes across as thoroughly unaffected, unassuming, well-spoken, funny — in other words, totally unlike the vast majority of celebrities out there, whether male or female, in movies, TV, music, or sports.

I know I sound like a devoted fangirl, but believe me or not that's not the case. True, there are a few other unpretentious, intelligent celebrities like that, but those are rare, rare qualities — even in total nobodies.

Here are a couple of quotes from the Robert Pattinson interview:

"From what I've seen, older people do appreciate it [Remember Me] kind of in a different way than they appreciate the Twilight films. I mean, Twilight films are always seen by older people as a guilty pleasure, I think."

Re: doing romcoms: "I'd love to but they're always just so rubbish! I mean … I'd absolutely love to do it, but I've literally never read a good romcom script."

And about Pierce Brosnan: "He's much more recognizable than I am as well."

Absolutely fantastic film!! Loved everything about the movie, it is no chick flick so be prepared. The ending is incredibly moving and a real tribute to a historical event, which I won't name. A must see for everyone!
